Buried Treasure

Sabin was especially delighted yesterday when he found a treasure buried in our garden.
Once I broke through the soil with a shovel, he spent a considerable amount of time in the garden.

Chloё moved on to other things.
But Sabin stayed to gather every carrot.
Of course Chloё returned in time to do the cooking.
This evening we had soup with plenty of carrots for dinner.
The children even helped to scrub the carrots.

Family Fun at the Park

Knowing that there was an excavator working in such close proximity to our house, we eventually were drawn dragged to the park. We took advantage of the warm fall weather.

By the way, these pictures are with my new camera. I still have a lot of "playing" to do, but I'm already excited with the drastic improvements over the old camera.

Baby Practice

Last night, just before bedtime, we had the joy of meeting our friends' (Josie, Ryan, and Little Ruthie) new baby, Samuel. The proud new grandparents live next door to us, making it easy to run next door after dinner.

A Day for Sabin

Today was filled with things that Sabin loves.  Chloё and I tagged along enjoying the warm weather.

                   First Stop:
The Skate Park
Sabin loves coming here. He's getting a bit braver and steadier on the various ramps.

Chloё is easily contented. The entire world is her playground.
We also stopped at the playground at this same park. Then we headed to Costco for lunch food and snacks. While we were there I picked up a new camera that I've been saving for since Chloё was still just tiny. (More on that later.)

On the way home, we happened to see this:
While Chloё slept in her carseat Sabin and I braved the now cold and windy weather. We watched for about an hour. Thankfully, by then the men were packing up to go home or I may never have gotten us out of there.
One of the men told us that the project would be ongoing for the next week. It is at the park near our house, so I figure that takes care of what we'll be doing next week.

Pasta Autumn Trees

We've been doing more craft projects of late. Sabin is finally enjoying them. And Chloё is always ready for "craft time".

Smashing the pasta was the most exciting part.

The children each drew a tree trunk on a piece of card stock. Then they spread glue where the leaves would go, sprinkling the pasta bits onto the glue. We let it all dry before dumping off the excess pasta.

I just realized I have no picture of the finished work. I'll have to come back and post one.

My Little Trick-or-Treaters

They covered almost 2 streets this year. We started way before dark, stopping to visit with all the neighbors that Sabin has made friends with over the years. When Sabin's legs gave out (Chloё was in the stroller), we headed for home to pass out candy to the kids that stopped by our house.

The children enjoyed giving out fistfuls of candy and emptied our bowl by 8pm. You have to come early to get candy from us. :~) By this time they were ready to head to bed.
