An Update on the Monthly Do-It-Myself projects

Remember this post regarding the 12 new things I was going to try this year? Ok, well, I didn't completely forget. Here is the list:

January - Homemade Hair Gel edited to making my own brown sugar. I just have to try this out. It is too simple not too. And since time is so short...
February - Give Birth to this Baby
March - Make homemade bagels in bread machine
April - Homemade Natural Mosquito Repellant
May - Homemade Kefir
June - Homemade Granola Bars
July - Homemade Facewash
August - Learn to Knit (just the basics) and make something simple
September - Homemade Graham Crackers
October - Sew "Super Capes" for the Littles
November - Homemade crackers
December - Homemade marshmallows

Ok, give me a little credit. I accomplished January and February right on schedule. In March I did not make any bagels, but I did do November. We made yummy homemade wheat thins using this recipe. They were so good we made them a couple of times.

In April we did make and have been using the Mosquito Repellant. I made a half batch and still have plenty left. We haven't gone camping as much as we had hoped, but even so I think a half batch is more than enough for the season.

May...nope we didn't make the Kefir. It's still on my "want to try" list. June found us making lots of granola, but not so many bars. It is good stuff. And I can grind the nuts up enough that Chloё doesn't even notice them.

It's July now of course, almost the end of it even, and I'm still washing my face the same way I washed it in June. But I did make something else this week that is almost on the list.... no "Super Capes" I'm not even sure the Littles would really like them. But they do like to make music and they do like to dance. I combined those likes with their love for color and crocheted these darling little anklets.

I'm not doing so hot at following the "plan", but I am making/trying some new things. Maybe I will get to those things I've missed. Right now life is full and changing. I'm learning to flex in the midst of it and still find places and spaces to grow myself.

Peacefully BuZzInG!
